1. ^ㅐ미쁘다, 이 말이여 사람이 ^ㄱ監督(감독)의 職分(직분)을 얻으려 하면 善(선)한 일을 思慕(사모)한다 함이로다
   
2. 그러므로 ^ㄴ監督(감독)은 責望(책망)할 것이 없으며 ^ㄷ한 아내의 男便(남편)이 되며, ^ㄹ節制(절제)하며, 謹愼(근신)하며, 雅淡(아담)하며, ^ㅁ나그네를 待接(대접)하며, ^ㅂ가르치기를 잘하며,
   
3. 술을 즐기지 아니하며, 毆打(구타)하지 아니하며, ^ㅅ오직 寬容(관용)하며, 다투지 아니하며, ^ㅇ돈을 사랑치 아니하며
   
4. 自己(자기) 집을 잘 다스려 ^ㅈ子女(자녀)들로 모든 端正(단정)함으로 服從(복종)케 하는 者(자)라야 할지며
   
5. 사람이 自己(자기) 집을 다스릴 줄 알지 못하면 어찌 하나님의 敎會(교회)를 돌아보리요
   

1. Das ist gewißlich wahr: So jemand ein Bischofsamt "begehrt," der begehrt ein köstlich Werk.
   
2. Es soll aber ein Bischof unsträflich "sein," eines Weibes "Mann," "nüchtern," "mäßig," "sittig," "gastfrei," "lehrhaft,"
   
3. nicht ein "Weinsäufer," nicht "raufen," nicht unehrliche Hantierung "treiben," sondern "gelinde," nicht "zänkisch," nicht "geizig,"
   
4. der seinem eigenen Hause wohl "vorstehe," der gehorsame Kinder habe mit aller "Ehrbarkeit,"
   
5. (so aber jemand seinem eigenen Hause nicht weiß "vorzustehen," wie wird er die Gemeinde Gottes versorgen?);
   

1. Here is a trustworthy saying: If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer, he desires a noble task.
   
2. Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,
   
3. not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.
   
4. He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect.
   
5. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's church?)
   

6. 새로 入敎(입교)한 者(자)도 말지니 ^ㅊ驕慢(교만)하여져서 魔鬼(마귀)를 定罪(정죄)하는 그 定罪(정죄)에 빠질까 함이요
   
7. 또한 ^ㅋ外人(외인)에게서도 善(선)한 證據(증거)를 얻은 者(자)라야 할지니 誹謗(비방)과 ^ㅌ魔鬼(마귀)의 올무에 빠질까 念慮(념려)하라
   
8. 이와 같이 ^ㅍ執事(집사)들도 端正(단정)하고 一口二言(일구이언)을 하지 아니하고 ^ㅎ술에 인박이지 아니하고 ^ㅏ더러운 利(이)를 貪(탐)하지 아니하고
   
9. ^ㅑ깨끗한 良心(량심)에 ^ㅓ믿음의 秘密(비밀)을 가진 者(자)라야 할지니
   
10. ^ㅕ이에 이 사람들을 먼저 試驗(시험)하여 보고 그 後(후)에 責望(책망)할 것이 없으면 執事(집사)의 職分(직분)을 하게 할 것이요
    

6. Nicht ein "Neuling," auf daß er sich nicht aufblase und ins Urteil des Lästerers falle.
   
7. Er muß aber auch ein gutes Zeugnis haben von "denen," die draußen "sind," auf daß er nicht falle dem Lästerer in Schmach und Strick.
   
8. Desgleichen die Diener sollen ehrbar "sein," nicht "zweizüngig," nicht "Weinsäufer," nicht unehrliche Hantierungen treiben;
   
9. die das Geheimnis des Glaubens in reinem Gewissen haben.
   
10. Und diese lasse man zuvor versuchen; darnach lasse man sie "dienen," wenn sie unsträflich sind.
    

6. He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil.
   
7. He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil's trap.
   
8. Deacons, likewise, are to be men worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain.
   
9. They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience.
   
10. They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons.
    

11. ^ㅗ女子(녀자)들도 이와 같이 端正(단정)하고 讒訴(참소)하지 말며 節制(절제)하며 ^ㅛ모든 일에 忠誠(충성)된 者(자)라야 할지니라
    
12. 執事(집사)들은 ^ㅜ한 아내의 男便(남편)이 되어 子女(자녀)와 自己(자기) 집을 잘 다스리는 者(자)일지니
    
13. ^ㅠ執事(집사)의 職分(직분)을 잘한 者(자)들은 아름다운 地位(지위)와 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 믿음에 큰 膽力(담력)을 얻느니라
    
14. 내가 速(속)히 네게 가기를 바라나 이것을 네게 쓰는 것은
    
15. 萬一(만일) 내가 遲滯(지체)하면 너로 ^으하나님의 집에서 어떻게 行(행)하여야 할 것을 알게 하려 함이니 이 집은 살아계신 하나님의 敎會(교회)요 眞理(진리)의 기둥과 터이니라
    

11. Desgleichen ihre Weiber sollen ehrbar "sein," nicht "Lästerinnen," "nüchtern," treu in allen Dingen.
    
12. Die Diener laß einen jeglichen sein eines Weibes "Mann," die ihren Kindern wohl vorstehen und ihren eigenen Häusern.
    
13. Welche aber wohl "dienen," die erwerben sich selbst eine gute Stufe und eine große Freudigkeit im Glauben an Christum Jesum.
    
14. Solches schreibe ich dir und "hoffe," bald zu dir zu kommen;
    
15. so ich aber "verzöge," daß du "wissest," wie du wandeln sollst in dem Hause "Gottes," welches ist die Gemeinde des lebendigen "Gottes," ein Pfeiler und eine Grundfeste der Wahrheit.
    

11. In the same way, their wives are to be women worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything.
    
12. A deacon must be the husband of but one wife and must manage his children and his household well.
    
13. Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus.
    
14. Although I hope to come to you soon, I am writing you these instructions so that,
    
15. if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God's household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.
    

16. 크도다 敬虔(경건)의 秘密(비밀)이여 그렇지 않다 하는 이 없도다 ^이그는 肉身(육신)으로 나타난 바 되시고 靈(영)으로 義(의)롭다 하심을 입으시고 ^ㅐ天使(천사)들에게 보이시고 ^ㄱ萬國(만국)에서 傳播(전파)되시고 ^ㄴ世上(세상)에서 믿은 바 되시고 ^ㄷ榮光(영광)가운데서 올리우셨음이니라
    

16. Und kündlich groß ist das gottselige Geheimnis: Gott ist offenbart im "Fleisch," gerechtfertigt im "Geist," erschienen den "Engeln," gepredigt den "Heiden," geglaubt von der "Welt," aufgenommen in die Herrlichkeit.
    

16. Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in a body, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.
