1. ^ㅗ그 後(후)에 암몬 子孫(자손)의 王(왕) 나하스가 죽고 그 아들이 代身(대신)하여 王(왕)이 되니
   
2. 다윗이 가로되 하눈의 아비 나하스가 前(전)에 내게 恩惠(은혜)를 베풀었으니 이제 내가 그 아들 하눈에게 恩惠(은혜)를 베풀리라 하고 使者(사자)를 보내어 그 아비 죽은 것을 조상하게 하니라 다윗의 信服(신복)들이 암몬 子孫(자손)의 땅에 이르러 하눈에게 나아가 조상하매
   
3. 암몬 子孫(자손)의 方伯(방백)들이 하눈에게 告(고)하되 王(왕)은 다윗이 조문사를 보낸 것이 王(왕)의 父親(부친)을 恭敬(공경)함인 줄로 여기시나이까 그 信服(신복)이 王(왕)에게 나아온 것이 이 땅을 엿보고 探知(탐지)하여 陷落(함락)시키고자 함이 아니니이까
   
4. 하눈이 이에 다윗의 信服(신복)들을 잡아 그 鬚髥(수염)을 깍고 그 衣服(의복)의 중동 볼기까지 자르고 돌려 보내매
   
5. 或(혹)이 다윗에게 가서 그 사람들의 當(당)한 일을 告(고)하니라 그 사람들이 甚(심)히 부끄러워하므로 다윗이 저희를 맞으러 보내어 이르기를 너희는 鬚髥(수염)이 자라기까지 여리고에 머물다가 돌아오라 하니라
   

1. Und nach diesem starb "Nahas," der König der Kinder "Ammon," und sein Sohn ward König an seiner Statt.
   
2. Da gedachte David: Ich will Barmherzigkeit tun an "Hanon," dem Sohn des Nahas; denn sein Vater hat an mir Barmherzigkeit getan. Und sandte Boten "hin," ihn zu trösten Über seinen Vater. Und da die Knechte Davids ins Land der Kinder Ammon kamen zu "Hanon," ihn zu "trösten,"
   
3. sprachen die FÜrsten der Kinder Ammon zu Hanon: Meinst "du," daß David deinen Vater ehre vor deinen "Augen," daß er Tröster zu dir gesandt hat? "Ja," seine Knechte sind gekommen zu "dir," zu forschen und umzukehren und zu erkunden das Land. {~}
   
4. Da nahm Hanon die Knechte Davids und schor sie und schnitt ihre Kleider halb ab bis an die Lenden und ließ sie gehen.
   
5. Und etliche gingen hin und sagten es David an von den Männern. Er aber sandte ihnen entgegen; denn die Männer waren sehr geschändet. Und der König sprach: Bleibet zu "Jericho," bis euer Bart wachse; so kommt dann wieder.
   

1. In the course of time, Nahash king of the Ammonites died, and his son succeeded him as king.
   
2. David thought, "I will show kindness to Hanun son of Nahash, because his father showed kindness to me." So David sent a delegation to express his sympathy to Hanun concerning his father. When David's men came to Hanun in the land of the Ammonites to express sympathy to him,
   
3. the Ammonite nobles said to Hanun, "Do you think David is honoring your father by sending men to you to express sympathy? Haven't his men come to you to explore and spy out the country and overthrow it?"
   
4. So Hanun seized David's men, shaved them, cut off their garments in the middle at the buttocks, and sent them away.
   
5. When someone came and told David about the men, he sent messengers to meet them, for they were greatly humiliated. The king said, "Stay at Jericho till your beards have grown, and then come back."
   

6. 암몬 子孫(자손)이 自己(자기)가 다윗에게 밉게 한 줄 안지라 하눈이 암몬 子孫(자손)으로 더불어 銀(은) 一千(일천) 달란트를 ^ㅛ아람 나하라임과 아람마아가와 ^ㅜ소바에 보내어 兵車(병거)와 馬兵(마병)을 삯 내되
   
7. 곧 兵車(병거) 三萬(삼만) 二千乘(이천승)과 마아가 王(왕)과 그 百姓(백성)을 삯 내었더니 저희가 와서 ^ㅠ메드바 앞에 陣(진) 치매 암몬 子孫(자손)이 그 모든 城邑(성읍)으로 좇아 모여와서 싸우려 한지라
   
8. 다윗이 듣고 요압과 勇士(용사)의 온 무리를 보내었더니
   
9. 암몬 子孫(자손)은 나와서 城門(성문) 앞에 陣(진) 치고 도우러 온 여러 王(왕)은 따로 들에 있더라
   
10. 요압이 앞 뒤에 친 敵陣(적진)을 보고 이스라엘 뺀 者(자) 中(중)에서 또 빼서 아람 사람을 對(대)하여 陣(진) 치고
    

6. Da aber die Kinder Ammon "sahen," daß sie waren stinkend geworden vor "David," sandten sie "hin," beide Hanon und die Kinder "Ammon," tausend Zentner "Silber," Wagen und Reiter zu dingen aus "Mesopotamien," aus dem Syrien von Maacha und aus Zoba.
   
7. Und dingten zweiunddreißigtausend Wagen und den König von Maacha mit seinem Volk; die kamen und lagerten sich vor Medeba. Und die Kinder Ammon sammelten sich aus ihren Städten und kamen zum Streit.
   
8. Da das David "hörte," sandte er hin Joab mit dem ganzen Heer der Helden.
   
9. Die Kinder Ammon aber waren ausgezogen und rÜsteten sich zum Streit vor der Stadt Tor. Die Könige "aber," die gekommen "waren," hielten im Felde besonders.
   
10. Da nun Joab "sah," daß vorn und hinter ihm Streit wider ihn "war," erwählte er aus aller jungen Mannschaft in Israel und stellte sich gegen die Syrer.
    

6. When the Ammonites realized that they had become a stench in David's nostrils, Hanun and the Ammonites sent a thousand talents of silver to hire chariots and charioteers from Aram Naharaim, Aram Maacah and Zobah.
   
7. They hired thirty-two thousand chariots and charioteers, as well as the king of Maacah with his troops, who came and camped near Medeba, while the Ammonites were mustered from their towns and moved out for battle.
   
8. On hearing this, David sent Joab out with the entire army of fighting men.
   
9. The Ammonites came out and drew up in battle formation at the entrance to their city, while the kings who had come were by themselves in the open country.
   
10. Joab saw that there were battle lines in front of him and behind him; so he selected some of the best troops in Israel and deployed them against the Arameans.
    

11. 그 남은 무리는 그 아우 ^으아비새의 手下(수하)에 붙여 암몬 子孫(자손)을 對(대)하여 陣(진) 치게 하고
    
12. 가로되 萬一(만일) 아람 사람이 나보다 强(강)하면 네가 나를 돕고 萬一(만일) 암몬 子孫(자손)이 너보다 强(강)하면 내가 너를 도우리라
    
13. 너는 膽大(담대)하라 우리가 우리 百姓(백성)과 우리 하나님의 城邑(성읍)들을 爲(위)하여 膽大(담대)히 하자 여호와께서 善(선)히 여기시는 대로 行(행)하시기를 願(원)하노라 하고
    
14. 요압과 그 從者(종자)가 싸우려고 아람 사람 앞에 나아가니 저희가 그 앞에서 逃亡(도망)하고
    
15. 암몬 子孫(자손)은 아람 사람의 逃亡(도망)함을 보고 저희도 요압의 아우 아비새 앞에서 逃亡(도망)하여 城(성)으로 들어간지라 이에 요압이 예루살렘으로 돌아오니라
    

11. Das Übrige Volk aber tat er unter die Hand "Abisais," seines "Bruders," daß sie sich rÜsteten wider die Kinder "Ammon,"
    
12. und sprach: Wenn mir die Syrer zu stark "werden," so komm mir zu Hilfe; wo dir aber die Kinder Ammon zu stark "werden," will ich dir helfen.
    
13. Sei getrost und laß uns getrost handeln fÜr unser Volk und fÜr die Städte unseres Gottes; der HERR "tue," was ihm gefällt.
    
14. Und Joab machte sich herzu mit dem "Volk," das bei ihm "war," gegen die Syrer zu streiten; und sie flohen vor ihm.
    
15. Da aber die Kinder Ammon "sahen," daß die Syrer "flohen," flohen sie auch vor "Abisai," seinem "Bruder," und zogen in die Stadt. Joab aber kam gen Jerusalem.
    

11. He put the rest of the men under the command of Abishai his brother, and they were deployed against the Ammonites.
    
12. Joab said, "If the Arameans are too strong for me, then you are to rescue me; but if the Ammonites are too strong for you, then I will rescue you.
    
13. Be strong and let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our God. The LORD will do what is good in his sight."
    
14. Then Joab and the troops with him advanced to fight the Arameans, and they fled before him.
    
15. When the Ammonites saw that the Arameans were fleeing, they too fled before his brother Abishai and went inside the city. So Joab went back to Jerusalem.
    

16. 아람 사람이 自己(자기)가 이스라엘 앞에서 敗(패)하였음을 보고 使者(사자)를 보내어 江(강) 건너便(편)에 있는 아람 사람을 불러내니 ^이하닷에셀의 軍隊(군대) 長官(장관) ^ㅐ소박이 저희를 거느린지라
    
17. 或(혹)이 다윗에게 告(고)하매 다윗이 온 이스라엘을 모으고 요단을 건너 아람 사람에게 이르러 저희를 向(향)하여 陣(진)을 치니라 다윗이 아람 사람을 向(향)하여 陣(진)을 치매 저희가 다윗으로 더불어 싸우더니
    
18. 아람 사람이 이스라엘 앞에서 逃亡(도망)한지라 다윗이 아람 兵車(병거) ^ㄱ七千乘(칠천승)의 軍士(군사)와 步兵(보병) 四萬(사만)을 죽이고 또 軍隊(군대) 長官(장관) 소박을 죽이매
    
19. 하닷에셀의 信服(신복)이 自己(자기)가 이스라엘 앞에서 敗(패)하였음을 보고 다윗으로 더불어 和親(화친)하여 섬기고 이 後(후)로는 아람 사람이 암몬 子孫(자손) 돕기를 싫어하니라
    

16. Da aber die Syrer "sahen," daß sie vor Israel geschlagen "waren," sandten sie Boten hin und brachten heraus die Syrer jenseit des Stroms; und "Sophach," der Feldhauptmann "Hadadesers," zog vor ihnen her.
    
17. Da das David angesagt "ward," sammelte er zuhauf das ganze Israel und zog Über den Jordan; und da er an sie "kam," rÜstete er sich wider sie. Und David rÜstete sich gegen die Syrer zum "Streit," und sie stritten mit ihm.
    
18. Aber die Syrer flohen vor Israel. Und David verderbte der Syrer siebentausend Wagen und vierzigtausend Mann zu Fuß; dazu tötete er "Sophach," den Feldhauptmann.
    
19. Und da die Knechte Hadadesers "sahen," daß sie vor Israel geschlagen "waren," machten sie Frieden mit David und wurden seine Knechte. Und die Syrer wollten den Kindern Ammon nicht mehr helfen.
    

16. After the Arameans saw that they had been routed by Israel, they sent messengers and had Arameans brought from beyond the River, with Shophach the commander of Hadadezer's army leading them.
    
17. When David was told of this, he gathered all Israel and crossed the Jordan; he advanced against them and formed his battle lines opposite them. David formed his lines to meet the Arameans in battle, and they fought against him.
    
18. But they fled before Israel, and David killed seven thousand of their charioteers and forty thousand of their foot soldiers. He also killed Shophach the commander of their army.
    
19. When the vassals of Hadadezer saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they made peace with David and became subject to him. So the Arameans were not willing to help the Ammonites anymore.
