Und meine Meinung hierin gebe ich; denn solches ist euch "nützlich," die ihr angefangen habt vom vorigen Jahre her nicht allein das "Tun," sondern auch das Wollen;

So we urged Titus, since he had earlier made a beginning, to bring also to completion this act of grace on your part.

But just as you excel in everything--in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us--see that you also excel in this grace of giving.

I am not commanding you, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others.

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.

And here is my advice about what is best for you in this matter: Last year you were the first not only to give but also to have the desire to do so.

이제는 行(행)하기를 成就(성취)할지니 마음에 願(원)하던 것과 같이 成就(성취)하되 있는 대로 하라

할 마음만 있으면 ^ㅈ있는 대로 받으실 터이요 없는 것을 받지 아니하시리라

이는 다른 사람들은 平安(평안)하게 하고 너희는 困苦(곤고)하게 하려는 것이 아니요 平均(평균)케 하려 함이니

이제 너희의 有餘(유여)한 것으로 ^ㅊ저희 不足(부족)한 것을 補充(보충)함은 後(후)에 저희 有餘(유여)한 것으로 너희 不足(부족)한 것을 補充(보충)하여 平均(평균)하게 하려 함이라

記錄(기록)한 것같이 ^ㅋ많이 거둔 者(자)도 남지 아니하였고 적게 거둔 者(자)도 모자라지 아니하였느니라

nun aber vollbringet auch das "Tun," auf "daß," gleichwie da ist ein geneigtes "Gemüt," zu "wollen," so sei auch da ein geneigtes "Gemüt," zu tun von "dem," was ihr habt.

Denn so einer willig "ist," so ist er "angenehm," nach dem er "hat," nicht nach dem er nicht hat.

Nicht geschieht das in der "Meinung," daß die andern Ruhe "haben," und ihr "Trübsal," sondern daß es gleich sei.

So diene euer Überfluß ihrem Mangel diese teure Zeit "lang," auf daß auch ihr Überfluß hernach diene eurem Mangel und ein Ausgleich geschehe;

wie geschrieben steht: Der viel "sammelte," hatte nicht "Überfluß," der wenig "sammelte," hatte nicht "Mangel."""""

Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means.

For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have.

Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality.

At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. Then there will be equality,

as it is written: "He who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little did not have too little."

너희를 爲(위)하여 같은 懇切(간절)함을 ^ㅌ디도의 마음에도 주시는 하나님께 ^ㅍ感謝(감사)하노니

^ㅎ저가 勸(권)함을 받고 더욱 懇切(간절)함으로 自願(자원)하여 너희에게 나아갔고

또 저와 함께 한 ^ㅏ兄弟(형제)를 보내었으니 이 사람은 福音(복음)으로서 ^ㅑ모든 敎會(교회)에서 稱讚(칭찬)을 받는 者(자)요

이뿐 아니라 ^ㅓ저는 同一(동일)한 ^ㅕ主(주)의 榮光(영광)과 우리의 願(원)을 나타내기 爲(위)하여 여러 敎會(교회)의 擇(택)함을 입어 우리의 맡은 ^ㅗ恩惠(은혜)의 일로 우리와 同行(동행)하는 者(자)라

이것을 操心(조심)함은 우리가 맡은 이 巨額(거액)의 捐補(연보)로 因(인)하여 아무도 우리를 毁謗(훼방)하지 못하게 하려 함이니

Gott aber sei "Dank," der solchen Eifer für euch gegeben hat in das Herz des Titus.

Denn er nahm zwar die Ermahnung an; aber dieweil er fleißig "war," ist er von selber zu euch gereist.

Wir haben aber einen Bruder mit ihm "gesandt," der das Lob hat am Evangelium durch alle Gemeinden.

Nicht allein aber "das," sondern er ist auch verordnet von den Gemeinden zum Gefährten unsrer Fahrt in dieser "Wohltat," welche durch uns ausgerichtet wird dem HERRN zu Ehren und zum Preis eures guten Willens.

Also verhüten "wir," daß uns nicht jemand übel nachreden möge solcher reichen Steuer "halben," die durch uns ausgerichtet wird;

I thank God, who put into the heart of Titus the same concern I have for you.

For Titus not only welcomed our appeal, but he is coming to you with much enthusiasm and on his own initiative.

And we are sending along with him the brother who is praised by all the churches for his service to the gospel.

What is more, he was chosen by the churches to accompany us as we carry the offering, which we administer in order to honor the Lord himself and to show our eagerness to help.

We want to avoid any criticism of the way we administer this liberal gift.

이는 ^ㅛ우리가 ^ㅜ主(주) 앞에서만 아니라 사람 앞에서도 善(선)한 일에 操心(조심)하려 함이라

또 저희와 함께 우리의 한 兄弟(형제)를 보내었노니 우리가 여러 가지 일에 그 懇切(간절)한 것을 여러 번 試驗(시험)하였거니와 이제 저가 너희를 크게 믿은故(고)로 더욱 懇切(간절)하니라

디도로 말하면 ^ㅠ나의 동무요 너희를 爲(위)한 나의 同役者(동역자)요 우리 兄弟(형제)들로 말하면 ^으여러 敎會(교회)의 使者(사자)들이요 그리스도의 榮光(영광)이니라

그러므로 너희는 여러 敎會(교회) 앞에서 너희의 사랑과 ^이너희를 對(대)한 우리 자랑의 證據(증거)를 저희에게 보이라

und sehen "darauf," daß es redlich "zugehe," nicht allein vor dem HERRN sondern auch vor den Menschen.

Auch haben wir mit ihnen gesandt unsern "Bruder," den wir oft erfunden haben in vielen "Stücken," daß er fleißig "sei," nun aber viel fleißiger.

Und wir sind großer Zuversicht zu "euch," es sei des Titus "halben," welcher mein Geselle und Gehilfe unter euch "ist," oder unsrer Brüder "halben," welche Boten sind der Gemeinden und eine Ehre Christi.

Erzeiget nun die Beweisung eurer Liebe und unsers Rühmens von euch an diesen auch öffentlich vor den Gemeinden!

For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of men.

In addition, we are sending with them our brother who has often proved to us in many ways that he is zealous, and now even more so because of his great confidence in you.

As for Titus, he is my partner and fellow worker among you; as for our brothers, they are representatives of the churches and an honor to Christ.

Therefore show these men the proof of your love and the reason for our pride in you, so that the churches can see it.
