Abimelech sprach: Warum hast du das getan? Es wäre leicht "geschehen," daß jemand vom Volk sich zu deinem Weibe gelegt "hätte," und hättest also eine Schuld auf uns gebracht.

So Isaac stayed in Gerar.

When the men of that place asked him about his wife, he said, "She is my sister," because he was afraid to say, "She is my wife." He thought, "The men of this place might kill me on account of Rebekah, because she is beautiful."

When Isaac had been there a long time, Abimelech king of the Philistines looked down from a window and saw Isaac caressing his wife Rebekah.

So Abimelech summoned Isaac and said, "She is really your wife! Why did you say, 'She is my sister'?" Isaac answered him, "Because I thought I might lose my life on account of her."

Then Abimelech said, "What is this you have done to us? One of the men might well have slept with your wife, and you would have brought guilt upon us."

아비멜렉이 이에 모든 百姓(백성)에게 命(명)하여 가로되 이 사람이나 그 아내에게 犯(범)하는 者(자)는 죽이리라 하였더라

이삭이 그 땅에서 農事(농사)하여 그 해에 百倍(백배)나 얻었고 여호와께서 ^ㅊ福(복)을 주시므로

그 사람이 昌大(창대)하고 旺盛(왕성)하여 마침내 巨富(거부)가 되어

羊(양)과 소가 떼를 이루고 奴僕(노복)이 甚(심)히 많으므로 블레셋 사람이 그를 ^ㅋ猜忌(시기)하여

그 아비 아브라함 때에 그 아비의 종들이 판 모든 ^ㅌ우물을 막고 흙으로 메웠더라

Da gebot Abimelech allem Volk und sprach: Wer diesen Mann oder sein Weib "antastet," der soll des Todes sterben.

Und Isaak säte in dem Lande und erntete desselben Jahres hundertfältig; denn der HERR segnete ihn.

Und er ward ein großer Mann und nahm immer mehr "zu," bis er sehr groß "ward,"

daß er viel Gut hatte an kleinem und großem Vieh und ein großes Gesinde. Darum beneideten ihn die Philister{~}

und verstopften alle "Brunnen," die seines Vaters Knechte gegraben hatten zur Zeit "Abrahams," seines "Vaters," und füllten sie mit Erde;

So Abimelech gave orders to all the people: "Anyone who molests this man or his wife shall surely be put to death."

Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the LORD blessed him.

The man became rich, and his wealth continued to grow until he became very wealthy.

He had so many flocks and herds and servants that the Philistines envied him.

So all the wells that his father's servants had dug in the time of his father Abraham, the Philistines stopped up, filling them with earth.

아비멜렉이 이삭에게 이르되 네가 우리보다 크게 强盛(강성)한즉 우리를 떠나가라

이삭이 그곳을 떠나 그랄 골짜기에 帳幕(장막)을 치고 거기 寓居(우거)하며

그 아비 아브라함 때에 팠던 우물들을 다시 팠으니 이는 아브라함 죽은 後(후)에 블레셋 사람이 그 우물들을 메웠음이라 이삭이 그 우물들의 이름을 ^ㅍ그 아비의 부르던 이름으로 불렀더라

이삭의 종들이 골짜기에 파서 샘 根源(근원)을 얻었더니

그랄 牧者(목자)들이 이삭의 牧者(목자)와 ^ㅎ다투어 가로되 이 물은 우리의 것이라 하매 이삭이 그 다툼을 因(인)하여 그 우물 이름을 에섹이라 하였으며

daß auch Abimelech zu ihm sprach: Ziehe von "uns," denn du bist uns zu mächtig geworden.

Da zog Isaak von dannen und schlug sein Gezelt auf im Grunde Gerar und wohnte allda

und ließ die Wasserbrunnen wieder "aufgraben," die sie zu "Abrahams," seines "Vaters," Zeiten gegraben "hatten," welche die Philister verstopft hatten nach Abrahams "Tod," und nannte sie mit demselben Namen mit denen sie sein Vater genannt hatte. {~}

Auch gruben Isaaks Knechte im Grunde und fanden daselbst einen Brunnen lebendigen Wassers.

Aber die Hirten von Gerar zankten mit den Hirten Isaaks und sprachen: Das Wasser ist unser. Da hieß er den Brunnen "Esek," darum daß sie ihm unrecht getan hatten.

Then Abimelech said to Isaac, "Move away from us; you have become too powerful for us."

So Isaac moved away from there and encamped in the Valley of Gerar and settled there.

Isaac reopened the wells that had been dug in the time of his father Abraham, which the Philistines had stopped up after Abraham died, and he gave them the same names his father had given them.

Isaac's servants dug in the valley and discovered a well of fresh water there.

But the herdsmen of Gerar quarreled with Isaac's herdsmen and said, "The water is ours!" So he named the well Esek, because they disputed with him.

또 다른 우물을 팠더니 그들이 또 다투는故(고)로 그 이름을 싯나라 하였으며

이삭이 거기서 옮겨 다른 우물을 팠더니 그들이 다투지 아니하였으므로 그 이름을 르호봇이라 하여 가로되 이제는 여호와께서 우리의 場所(장소)를 넓게 하셨으니 이 땅에서 우리가 蕃盛(번성)하리로다 하였더라

이삭이 거기서부터 브엘세바로 올라갔더니

그 밤에 여호와께서 그에게 나타나 가라사대 ^ㅏ나는 네 아비 아브라함의 하나님이니 ^ㅑ두려워 말라 내 종 아브라함을 爲(위)하여 ^ㅓ내가 너와 함께 있어 네게 福(복)을 주어 네 子孫(자손)으로 蕃盛(번성)케 하리라 하신지라

이삭이 그곳에 ^ㅕ壇(단)을 쌓아 여호와의 이름을 부르고 거기 帳幕(장막)을 쳤더니 그 종들이 거기서도 우물을 팠더라

Da gruben sie einen andern Brunnen. Darüber zankten sie "auch," darum hieß er ihn Sitna.

Da machte er sich von dannen und grub einen andern Brunnen. Darüber zankten sie sich nicht; darum hieß er ihn Rehoboth und sprach: Nun hat uns der HERR Raum gemacht und uns wachsen lassen im Lande.

Darnach zog er von dannen gen Beer-Seba.

Und der HERR erschien ihm in derselben Nacht und sprach: Ich bin deines Vaters Abrahams Gott. Fürchte dich nicht; denn ich bin mit dir und will dich segnen und deinen Samen mehren um meines Knechtes Abraham willen.

Da baute er einen Altar daselbst und predigte von dem Namen des HERRN und richtete daselbst seine Hütte "auf," und seine Knechte gruben daselbst einen Brunnen.

Then they dug another well, but they quarreled over that one also; so he named it Sitnah.

He moved on from there and dug another well, and no one quarreled over it. He named it Rehoboth, saying, "Now the LORD has given us room and we will flourish in the land."

From there he went up to Beersheba.

That night the LORD appeared to him and said, "I am the God of your father Abraham. Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bless you and will increase the number of your descendants for the sake of my servant Abraham."
