Sie antwortete: Hast du nicht "genug," daß du mir meinen Mann genommen "hast," und willst auch die Liebesäpfel meines Sohnes nehmen? Rahel sprach: "Wohlan," laß ihn diese Nacht bei dir schlafen um die Liebesäpfel deines Sohnes.

Then Leah said, "What good fortune!" So she named him Gad.

Leah's servant Zilpah bore Jacob a second son.

Then Leah said, "How happy I am! The women will call me happy." So she named him Asher.

During wheat harvest, Reuben went out into the fields and found some mandrake plants, which he brought to his mother Leah. Rachel said to Leah, "Please give me some of your son's mandrakes."

But she said to her, "Wasn't it enough that you took away my husband? Will you take my son's mandrakes too?" "Very well," Rachel said, "he can sleep with you tonight in return for your son's mandrakes."

저물 때에 야곱이 들에서 돌아오매 레아가 나와서 그를 迎接(영접)하며 이르되 내게로 들어오라 내가 내 아들의 合歡采(합환채)로 當身(당신)을 샀노라 그 밤에 야곱이 그와 同寢(동침)하였더라

하나님이 레아를 들으셨으므로 그가 孕胎(잉태)하여 다섯째 아들을 야곱에게 낳은지라

레아가 가로되 내가 내 侍女(시녀)를 男便(남편)에게 주었으므로 하나님이 내게 그 값을 주셨다 하고 그 이름을 잇사갈이라 하였으며

레아가 다시 孕胎(잉태)하여 여섯째 아들을 야곱에게 낳은지라

레아가 가로되 하나님이 네게 厚(후)한 膳物(선물)을 주시도다 내가 男便(남편)에게 여섯 아들을 낳았으니 이제는 그가 나와 함께 居(거)하리라 하고 그 이름을 ^ㅗ스불론이라 하였으며

Da nun Jakob des Abends vom Felde "kam," ging ihm Lea hinaus entgegen und sprach: Zu mir sollst du kommen; denn ich habe dich erkauft um die Liebesäpfel meines Sohnes. Und er schlief die Nacht bei ihr. {~}

Und Gott erhörte "Lea," und sie ward schwanger und gebar Jakob den fünften Sohn

und sprach Gott hat mir "gelohnt," daß ich meine Magd meinem Manne gegeben habe. Und hieß ihn Isaschar.

Abermals ward Lea schwanger und gebar Jakob den sechsten "Sohn,"

und sprach: Gott hat mich wohl beraten; nun wird mein Mann doch bei mir "wohnen," denn ich habe ihm sechs Söhne geboren. Und hieß ihn Sebulon. {~}

So when Jacob came in from the fields that evening, Leah went out to meet him. "You must sleep with me," she said. "I have hired you with my son's mandrakes." So he slept with her that night.

God listened to Leah, and she became pregnant and bore Jacob a fifth son.

Then Leah said, "God has rewarded me for giving my maidservant to my husband." So she named him Issachar.

Leah conceived again and bore Jacob a sixth son.

Then Leah said, "God has presented me with a precious gift. This time my husband will treat me with honor, because I have borne him six sons." So she named him Zebulun.

그 後(후)에 그가 딸을 낳고 그 이름을 디나라 하였더라

하나님이 ^ㅛ라헬을 생각하신지라 하나님이 그를 들으시고 그 ^ㅜ胎(태)를 여신故(고)로

그가 孕胎(잉태)하여 아들을 낳고 가로되 하나님이 ^ㅠ나의 부끄러움을 씻으셨다 하고

그 이름을 요셉이라 하니 ^으여호와는 다시 다른 아들을 내게 더하시기를 願(원)하노라 함이었더라

라헬이 요셉을 낳은 때에 야곱이 라반에게 이르되 나를 보내어 내 故鄕(고향) 내 本土(본토)로 가게 하시되

Darnach gebar sie eine "Tochter," die hieß sie Dina.

Gott gedachte aber an Rahel und erhörte sie und machte sie fruchtbar.

Da ward sie schwanger und gebar einen Sohn und sprach: Gott hat meine Schmach von mir genommen.

Und hieß ihn Joseph und sprach: Der HERR wolle mir noch einen Sohn dazugeben!

Da nun Rahel den Joseph geboren "hatte," sprach Jakob zu Laban: Laß mich ziehen und reisen an meinen Ort in mein Land.

Some time later she gave birth to a daughter and named her Dinah.

Then God remembered Rachel; he listened to her and opened her womb.

She became pregnant and gave birth to a son and said, "God has taken away my disgrace."

She named him Joseph, and said, "May the LORD add to me another son."

After Rachel gave birth to Joseph, Jacob said to Laban, "Send me on my way so I can go back to my own homeland.

내가 ^이外三寸(외삼촌)에게서 일하고 얻은 妻子(처자)를 내게 주어 나로 가게 하소서 내가 外三寸(외삼촌)께 한 일은 外三寸(외삼촌)이 아시나이다

라반이 그에게 이르되 여호와께서 너로 因(인)하여 내게 福(복) 주신줄을 내가 깨달았노니 네가 나를 사랑스럽게 여기거든 留(유)하라

또 가로되 네 품삯을 ^ㅐ定(정)하라 내가 그것을 주리라

야곱이 그에게 이르되 내가 어떻게 外三寸(외삼촌)을 섬겼는지, 어떻게 外三寸(외삼촌)의 짐승을 쳤는지 ^ㄱ外三寸(외삼촌)이 아시나이다

내가 오기 前(전)에는 外三寸(외삼촌)의 所有(소유)가 적더니 蕃盛(번성)하여 떼를 이루었나이다 ^ㄴ나의 功力(공력)을 따라 여호와께서 外三寸(외삼촌)에게 福(복)을 주셨나이다 그러나 나는 어느 때에나 ^ㄷ내 집을 세우리이까

Gib mir meine Weiber und meine Kinder um die ich dir gedient "habe," daß ich ziehe; denn du "weißt," wie ich dir gedient habe.

Laban sprach zu ihm: Laß mich Gnade vor deinen Augen finden. Ich "spüre," daß mich der HERR segnet um deinetwillen;

bestimme den "Lohn," den ich dir geben soll. {~}

Er aber sprach zu ihm: Du "weißt," wie ich dir gedient habe und was du für Vieh hast unter mir.

Du hattest "wenig," ehe ich her "kam," nun aber ist's ausgebreitet in die "Menge," und der HERR hat dich gesegnet durch meinen Fuß. Und "nun," wann soll ich auch mein Haus versorgen?

Give me my wives and children, for whom I have served you, and I will be on my way. You know how much work I've done for you."

But Laban said to him, "If I have found favor in your eyes, please stay. I have learned by divination that the LORD has blessed me because of you."

He added, "Name your wages, and I will pay them."

Jacob said to him, "You know how I have worked for you and how your livestock has fared under my care.

The little you had before I came has increased greatly, and the LORD has blessed you wherever I have been. But now, when may I do something for my own household?"

라반이 가로되 내가 무엇으로 네게 주랴 야곱이 가로되 外三寸(외삼촌)께서 아무 것도 내게 주실 것이 아니라 나를 爲(위)하여 이 일을 行(행)하시면 내가 다시 外三寸(외삼촌)의 羊(양)떼를 먹이고 지키리이다

오늘 내가 外三寸(외삼촌)의 羊(양)떼로 두루 다니며 그 羊(양) 中(중)에 아롱진 者(자)와 點(점) 있는 者(자)와 검은 者(자)를 가리어 내며 염소 中(중)에 點(점) 있는 者(자)와 아롱진 者(자)를 가리어 내리니 ^ㄹ이 같은 것이 나면 나의 삯이 되리이다

後日(후일)에 外三寸(외삼촌)께서 오셔서 내 품삯을 調査(조사) 하실 때에 나의 義(의)가 나의 表徵(표징)이 되리이다 내게 或時(혹시) 염소 中(중) 아롱지지 아니한 者(자)나, 점이 없는 者(자)나 羊(양) 中(중) 검지 아니한 者(자)가 있거든 다 盜賊(도적)질한 것으로 認定(인정)하소서

라반이 가로되 내가 네 말대로 하리라하고

그 날에 그가 수 염소 中(중) 얼룩 무늬 있는 者(자)와 點(점) 있는 者(자)를 가리고 암 염소 中(중) 흰 바탕에 아롱진 者(자)와 點(점) 있는 者(자)를 가리고 羊(양) 中(중)의 검은 者(자)들을 가려 自己(자기) 아들들의 손에 붙이고

Er aber sprach: Was soll ich dir denn geben? Jakob sprach: Du sollst mir nichts geben; sondern so du mir tun "willst," was ich "sage," so will ich wiederum weiden und hüten deine Schafe.

Ich will heute durch alle deine Herden gehen und aussondern alle gefleckten und bunten Schafe und alle schwarzen Schafe und die bunten und gefleckten Ziegen. Was nun bunt und gefleckt fallen "wird," das soll mein Lohn sein. {~}

So wird meine Gerechtigkeit zeugen heute oder "morgen," wenn es "kommt," daß ich meinen Lohn von dir nehmen soll; also "daß," was nicht gefleckt oder bunt unter den Ziegen und nicht schwarz sein wird unter den "Lämmern," das sei ein Diebstahl bei mir.

Da sprach Laban: Siehe "da," es "sei," wie du gesagt hast.

Und sonderte des Tages die sprenkligen und bunten Böcke und alle gefleckten und bunten "Ziegen," wo nur was Weißes daran "war," und "alles," was schwarz war unter den "Lämmern," und tat's unter die Hand seiner Kinder

"What shall I give you?" he asked. "Don't give me anything," Jacob replied. "But if you will do this one thing for me, I will go on tending your flocks and watching over them:

Let me go through all your flocks today and remove from them every speckled or spotted sheep, every dark-colored lamb and every spotted or speckled goat. They will be my wages.

And my honesty will testify for me in the future, whenever you check on the wages you have paid me. Any goat in my possession that is not speckled or spotted, or any lamb that is not dark-colored, will be considered stolen."

"Agreed," said Laban. "Let it be as you have said."

That same day he removed all the male goats that were streaked or spotted, and all the speckled or spotted female goats (all that had white on them) and all the dark-colored lambs, and he placed them in the care of his sons.

自己(자기)와 야곱의 사이를 사흘 길이 뜨게 하였고 야곱은 라반의 남은 羊(양)떼를 치니라

야곱이 ^ㅁ버드나무와 살구나무와 신풍나무의 푸른 가지를 取(취)하여 그것들의 껍질을 벗겨 흰 무늬를 내고

그 껍질 벗긴 가지를 ^ㅂ羊(양)떼가 와서 먹는 개천의 물 구유에 세워 羊(양)떼에 向(향)하게 하매 그 떼가 물을 먹으러 올 때에 새끼를 배니

가지 앞에서 새끼를 배므로 얼룩 얼룩한 것과 點(점)이 있고 아롱진 것을 낳은지라

야곱이 새끼 羊(양)을 區分(구분)하고 그 얼룩 무늬와 검은 빛 있는 것으로 라반의 羊(양)과 서로 對(대)하게 하며 自己(자기) 羊(양)을 따로 두어 라반의 羊(양)과 섞이지 않게 하며

und machte Raum drei Tagereisen weit zwischen sich und Jakob. Also weidete Jakob die übrigen Herden Labans.

Jakob aber nahm Stäbe von grünen "Pappelbäumen," Haseln und Kastanien und schälte weiße Streifen "daran," daß an den Stäben das Weiß bloß "ward,"

und legte die "Stäbe," die er geschält "hatte," in die Tränkrinnen vor die "Herden," die kommen "mußten," zu "trinken," daß sie da empfangen "sollten," wenn sie zu trinken kämen. {~}

Also empfingen die Herden über den Stäben und brachten "Sprenklinge," Gefleckte und Bunte. {~}

Da schied Jakob die Lämmer und richtete die Herde mit dem Angesicht gegen die Gefleckten und Schwarzen in der Herde Labans und machte sich eine eigene "Herde," die tat er nicht zu der Herde Labans.

Then he put a three-day journey between himself and Jacob, while Jacob continued to tend the rest of Laban's flocks.

Jacob, however, took fresh-cut branches from poplar, almond and plane trees and made white stripes on them by peeling the bark and exposing the white inner wood of the branches.

Then he placed the peeled branches in all the watering troughs, so that they would be directly in front of the flocks when they came to drink. When the flocks were in heat and came to drink,

they mated in front of the branches. And they bore young that were streaked or speckled or spotted.

Jacob set apart the young of the flock by themselves, but made the rest face the streaked and dark-colored animals that belonged to Laban. Thus he made separate flocks for himself and did not put them with Laban's animals.

實(실)한 羊(양)이 새끼 밸 때에는 야곱이 개천에다가 羊(양)떼의 눈 앞에 그 가지를 두어 羊(양)으로 그 가지 곁에서 새끼를 배게 하고

弱(약)한 羊(양)이면 그 가지를 두지 아니하니 이러므로 弱(약)한 者(자)는 라반의 것이 되고, 實(실)한 者(자)는 야곱의 것이 된지라

이에 그 사람이 甚(심)히 ^ㅅ豊富(풍부)하여 羊(양)떼와 奴婢(노비)와 약대와 나귀가 ^ㅇ많았더라

Wenn aber der Lauf der Frühling-Herde "war," legte er die Stäbe in die Rinnen vor die Augen der "Herde," daß sie über den Stäben empfingen;

aber in der Spätlinge Lauf legte er sie nicht hinein. Also wurden die Spätlinge des "Laban," aber die Frühlinge des Jakob. {~}

Daher ward der Mann über die Maßen "reich," daß er viele "Schafe," Mägde und "Knechte," Kamele und Esel hatte.

Whenever the stronger females were in heat, Jacob would place the branches in the troughs in front of the animals so they would mate near the branches,

but if the animals were weak, he would not place them there. So the weak animals went to Laban and the strong ones to Jacob.

In this way the man grew exceedingly prosperous and came to own large flocks, and maidservants and menservants, and camels and donkeys.
