Da nun Geld gebrach im Lande Ägypten und "Kanaan," kamen alle Ägypter zu Joseph und sprachen: Schaffe uns Brot! Warum läßt du uns vor dir "sterben," darum daß wir ohne Geld sind?

So Joseph settled his father and his brothers in Egypt and gave them property in the best part of the land, the district of Rameses, as Pharaoh directed.

Joseph also provided his father and his brothers and all his father's household with food, according to the number of their children.

There was no food, however, in the whole region because the famine was severe; both Egypt and Canaan wasted away because of the famine.

Joseph collected all the money that was to be found in Egypt and Canaan in payment for the grain they were buying, and he brought it to Pharaoh's palace.

When the money of the people of Egypt and Canaan was gone, all Egypt came to Joseph and said, "Give us food. Why should we die before your eyes? Our money is used up."

요셉이 가로되 너희의 짐승을 내라 돈이 盡(진)하였은즉 내가 너희의 짐승과 바꾸어 주리라

그들이 그 짐승을 요셉에게 끌어 오는지라 요셉이 그 말과 羊(양)떼와 소떼와 나귀를 받고 그들에게 植物(식물)을 주되 곧 그 모든 짐승과 바꾸어서 그 해 동안에 植物(식물)로 그들을 기르니라

그 해가 다하고 새 해가 되매 무리가 요셉에게 와서 그에게 告(고)하되 우리가 主(주)께 숨기지 아니하나이다 우리의 돈이 다하였고 우리의 짐승떼가 主(주)께로 돌아갔사오니 主(주)께 낼 것이 아무 것도 남지 아니하고 우리의 몸과 田地(전지)뿐이라

우리가 어찌 우리의 田地(전지)와 함께 主(주)의 目前(목전)에 죽으리이까 우리 몸과 우리 土地(토지)를 ^ㄷ植物(식물)로 사소서, 우리가 土地(토지)와 함께 바로의 종이 되리니 우리에게 種子(종자)를 주시면 우리가 살고 죽지 아니하고 田地(전지)도 荒廢(황폐)치 아니하리이다

그러므로 요셉이 애굽 田地(전지)를 다 사서 바로에게 드리니 애굽 사람이 饑饉(기근)에 몰려서 各其(각기) 田地(전지)를 팖이라 땅이 바로의 所有(소유)가 되니라

Joseph sprach: Schafft euer Vieh "her," so will ich euch um das Vieh "geben," weil ihr ohne Geld seid.

Da brachten sie Joseph ihr Vieh; und er gab ihnen Brot um ihre "Pferde," "Schafe," Rinder und Esel. Also ernährte er sie mit Brot das Jahr um all ihr Vieh.

Da das Jahr um "war," kamen sie zu ihm im zweiten Jahr und sprachen zu ihm: Wir wollen unserm Herrn nicht "verbergen," daß nicht allein das Geld sondern auch alles Vieh dahin ist zu unserm Herrn; und ist nichts mehr übrig vor unserm Herrn denn unsre Leiber und unser Feld.

Warum läßt du uns vor dir sterben und unser Feld? Kaufe uns und unser Land ums "Brot," daß wir und unser Land leibeigen seien dem Pharao; gib uns "Samen," daß wir leben und nicht sterben und das Feld nicht wüst werde.

Also kaufte Joseph dem Pharao das ganze Ägypten. Denn die Ägypter verkauften ein jeglicher seinen "Acker," denn die Teuerung war zu stark über sie. Und ward also das Land Pharao eigen.

"Then bring your livestock," said Joseph. "I will sell you food in exchange for your livestock, since your money is gone."

So they brought their livestock to Joseph, and he gave them food in exchange for their horses, their sheep and goats, their cattle and donkeys. And he brought them through that year with food in exchange for all their livestock.

When that year was over, they came to him the following year and said, "We cannot hide from our lord the fact that since our money is gone and our livestock belongs to you, there is nothing left for our lord except our bodies and our land.

Why should we perish before your eyes--we and our land as well? Buy us and our land in exchange for food, and we with our land will be in bondage to Pharaoh. Give us seed so that we may live and not die, and that the land may not become desolate."

So Joseph bought all the land in Egypt for Pharaoh. The Egyptians, one and all, sold their fields, because the famine was too severe for them. The land became Pharaoh's,

요셉이 애굽 이 끝에서 저 끝까지의 百姓(백성)을 城邑(성읍)들에 옮겼으나

祭司長(제사장)의 田地(전지)는 사지 아니하였으니 ^ㄹ祭司長(제사장)은 바로에게서 祿(녹)을 받음이라 바로의 주는 祿(녹)을 먹으므로 그 田地(전지)를 팔지 않음이었더라

요셉이 百姓(백성)에게 이르되 오늘날 내가 바로를 爲(위)하여 너희 몸과 너희 田地(전지)를 샀노라 여기 種子(종자)가 있으니 너희는 그 땅에 뿌리라

秋收(추수)의 ^ㅁ五分(오분) 一(일)을 바로에게 上納(상납)하고 四分(사분)은 너희가 取(취)하여 田地(전지)의 種子(종자)도 삼고 너희의 糧食(량식)도 삼고 너희 집 사람과 어린 아이의 糧食(량식)도 삼으라

그들이 가로되 主(주)께서 우리를 살리셨사오니 ^ㅂ우리가 主(주)께 恩惠(은혜)를 입고 바로의 종이 되겠나이다

Und er teilte das Volk aus in die "Städte," von einem Ende Ägyptens bis ans andere.

Ausgenommen der Priester Feld. Das kaufte er nicht; denn es war von Pharao für die Priester "verordnet," daß sie sich nähren sollten von dem "Verordneten," das er ihnen gegeben hatte; darum brauchten sie ihr Feld nicht zu verkaufen.

Da sprach Joseph zu dem Volk: "Siehe," ich habe heute gekauft euch und euer Feld dem Pharao; "siehe," da habt ihr Samen und besäet das Feld.

Und von dem Getreide sollt ihr den Fünften geben; vier Teile sollen euer "sein," zu besäen das Feld und zu eurer Speise und für euer Haus und eure Kinder. {~} {~}

Sie sprachen: Du hast uns am Leben erhalten; laß uns nur Gnade finden vor "dir," unserm "Herrn," so wollen wir gerne Pharao leibeigen sein.

and Joseph reduced the people to servitude, from one end of Egypt to the other.

However, he did not buy the land of the priests, because they received a regular allotment from Pharaoh and had food enough from the allotment Pharaoh gave them. That is why they did not sell their land.

Joseph said to the people, "Now that I have bought you and your land today for Pharaoh, here is seed for you so you can plant the ground.

But when the crop comes in, give a fifth of it to Pharaoh. The other four-fifths you may keep as seed for the fields and as food for yourselves and your households and your children."

"You have saved our lives," they said. "May we find favor in the eyes of our lord; we will be in bondage to Pharaoh."

요셉이 애굽 土地法(토지법)을 세우매 그 五分(오분) 一(일)이 바로에게 上納(상납)되나 ^ㅅ祭司長(제사장)의 土地(토지)는 바로의 所有(소유)가 되지 아니하여 오늘까지 이르니라

이스라엘 族屬(족속)이 ^ㅇ애굽 ^ㅈ고센 땅에 居(거)하며 거기서 産業(산업)을 얻고 生育(생육)하며 蕃盛(번성)하였더라

야곱이 애굽 땅에 十七年(십칠년)을 居(거)하였으니 그의 ^ㅊ壽(수)가 一百(일백) 四十七歲(사십칠세)라

^ㅋ이스라엘의 죽을 期限(기한)이 가까우매 그가 그 아들 요셉을 불러 그에게 이르되 이제 ^ㅌ내가 네게 恩惠(은혜)를 입었거든 請(청)하노니 네 손을 ^ㅍ내 환도뼈 아래 넣어서 나를 ^ㅎ仁愛(인애)와 誠心(성심)으로 待接(대접)하여 ^ㅏ애굽에 葬事(장사)하지 않기를 盟誓(맹서)하고

내가 祖上(조상)들과 함께 눕거든 너는 나를 애굽에서 메어다가 ^ㅑ先塋(선영)에 葬事(장사)하라 요셉이 가로되 내가 아버지의 말씀대로 行(행)하리이다

Also machte Joseph ihnen ein Gesetz bis auf diesen Tag über der Ägypter "Feld," den Fünften Pharao zu geben; ausgenommen der Priester "Feld," das ward dem Pharao nicht eigen.

Also wohnte Israel in Ägypten im Lande "Gosen," und hatten's inne und wuchsen und mehrten sich sehr.

Und Jakob lebte siebzehn Jahre in "Ägyptenland," daß sein ganzes Alter ward hundertsiebenundvierzig Jahre.

Da nun die Zeit "herbeikam," daß Israel sterben "sollte," rief er seinen Sohn Joseph und sprach zu ihm: Habe ich Gnade vor dir "gefunden," so lege deine Hand unter meine "Hüfte," daß du mir die Liebe und Treue an mir tust und begrabest mich nicht in Ägypten;

sondern ich will liegen bei meinen "Vätern," und du sollst mich aus Ägypten führen und in ihrem Begräbnis begraben. Er sprach: Ich will "tun," wie du gesagt hast.

So Joseph established it as a law concerning land in Egypt--still in force today--that a fifth of the produce belongs to Pharaoh. It was only the land of the priests that did not become Pharaoh's.

Now the Israelites settled in Egypt in the region of Goshen. They acquired property there and were fruitful and increased greatly in number.

Jacob lived in Egypt seventeen years, and the years of his life were a hundred and forty-seven.

When the time drew near for Israel to die, he called for his son Joseph and said to him, "If I have found favor in your eyes, put your hand under my thigh and promise that you will show me kindness and faithfulness. Do not bury me in Egypt,

but when I rest with my fathers, carry me out of Egypt and bury me where they are buried." "I will do as you say," he said.

야곱이 또 가로되 내게 盟誓(맹서)하라 盟誓(맹서)하니 ^ㅓ이스라엘이 寢床(침상) 머리에서 敬拜(경배)하니라

Er aber sprach: So schwöre mir. Und er schwur ihm. Da neigte sich Israel zu Häupten des Bettes.

"Swear to me," he said. Then Joseph swore to him, and Israel worshiped as he leaned on the top of his staff.
