1. ^ㅓ네 하나님 여호와께서 이 列國(렬국)을 滅絶(멸절)하시고 네 하나님 여호와께서 그 땅을 네게 주시므로 네가 畢竟(필경) 그것을 얻고 그들의 各(각) 城邑(성읍)과 各(각) 家屋(가옥)에 居(거)할 때에
   
2. 네 하나님 여호와께서 네게 基業(기업)으로 주신 땅 가운데서 ^ㅕ세 城邑(성읍)을 너를 爲(위)하여 區別(구별)하고
   
3. 네 하나님 여호와께서 네게 遺業(유업)으로 주시는 땅의 全體(전체)를 三區(삼구)로 分(분)하여 그 道路(도로)를 닦고 무릇 殺人者(살인자)를 그 城邑(성읍)으로 逃避(도피)케 하라
   
4. ^ㅗ殺人者(살인자)가 그리로 逃避(도피)하여 살 만한 經緯(경위)는 이러하니 곧 누구든지 本來(본래) 嫌怨(혐원)이 없이 不知中(부지중)에 그 이웃을 죽인 일,
   
5. 假令(가령) 사람이 그 이웃과 함께 伐木(벌목)하러 森林(삼림)에 들어가서 손에 도끼를 들고 伐木(벌목)하려고 찍을 때에 도끼가 자루에서 빠져 그 이웃을 맞춰 그로 죽게함 같은 것이라 이런 사람은 그 城邑(성읍) 中(중) 하나로 逃避(도피)하여 生命(생명)을 保存(보존)할 것이니라
   

1. Wenn der "HERR," dein "Gott," die Völker ausgerottet "hat," welcher Land dir der "HERR," dein "Gott," geben "wird," daß du es einnehmest und in ihren Städten und Häusern "wohnst,"
   
2. sollst du dir drei Städte aussondern in dem "Lande," das dir der "HERR," dein "Gott," geben wird einzunehmen.
   
3. Und sollst den Weg dahin zurichten und das Gebiet deines "Landes," das dir der "HERR," dein "Gott," austeilen "wird," in drei Kreise "scheiden," daß dahin "fliehe," wer einen Totschlag getan hat.
   
4. Und also soll's sein mit der Sache des "Totschlägers," der dahin "flieht," daß er lebendig bleibe: wenn jemand seinen Nächsten "schlägt," nicht "vorsätzlich," und hat zuvor keinen Haß auf ihn "gehabt,"
   
5. sondern als wenn jemand mit seinem Nächsten in den Wald "ginge," Holz zu "hauen," und seine Hand holte mit der Axt "aus," das Holz "abzuhauen," und das Eisen führe vom Stiel und träfe seinen "Nächsten," daß er stürbe: der soll in dieser Städte eine "fliehen," daß er lebendig "bleibe,"
   

1. When the LORD your God has destroyed the nations whose land he is giving you, and when you have driven them out and settled in their towns and houses,
   
2. then set aside for yourselves three cities centrally located in the land the LORD your God is giving you to possess.
   
3. Build roads to them and divide into three parts the land the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, so that anyone who kills a man may flee there.
   
4. This is the rule concerning the man who kills another and flees there to save his life--one who kills his neighbor unintentionally, without malice aforethought.
   
5. For instance, a man may go into the forest with his neighbor to cut wood, and as he swings his ax to fell a tree, the head may fly off and hit his neighbor and kill him. That man may flee to one of these cities and save his life.
   

6. 그 사람이 그에게 本來(본래) 嫌怨(혐원)이 없으니 죽이기에 合當(합당)치 아니하나 두렵건대 ^ㅛ報酬者(보수자)의 마음이 뜨거워서 殺人者(살인자)를 따르는데 그 가는 길이 멀면 그를 따라 미쳐서 죽일까 하노라
   
7. 그러므로 내가 네게 命(명)하기를 세 城邑(성읍)을 너를 爲(위)하여 區別(구별)하라 하노라
   
8. ^ㅜ네 하나님 여호와께서 ^ㅠ네 列祖(열조)에게 盟誓(맹서)하신 대로 네 地境(지경)을 넓혀 ^으네 列祖(열조)에게 주리라고 말씀하신 땅을 다 네게 주실 때
   
9. 또 네가 나의 오늘날 네게 命(명)하는 이 모든 命令(명령)을 지켜 行(행)하여 네 하나님 여호와를 사랑하고 恒常(항상) 그 길로 行(행)할 때에는 이 셋 外(외)에 ^이세 城邑(성읍)을 더하여
   
10. 네 하나님 여호와께서 네게 基業(기업)으로 주시는 땅에서 無罪(무죄)한 피를 흘림이 없게 하라 이같이 하면 그 피가 네게로 돌아가지 아니하리라
    

6. auf daß nicht der Bluträcher dem Totschläger "nachjage," weil sein Herz erhitzt "ist," und ergreife "ihn," weil der Weg so ferne "ist," und schlage ihn "tot," so er doch nicht des Todes schuldig "ist," weil er keinen Haß gegen ihn getragen hat.
   
7. Darum gebiete ich "dir," daß du drei Städte aussonderst.
   
8. Und so der "HERR," dein "Gott," deine Grenzen erweitern "wird," wie er deinen Vätern geschworen "hat," und gibt dir alles "Land," das er geredet hat deinen Vätern zu geben
   
9. (so du anders alle diese Gebote halten "wirst," daß du darnach "tust," die ich dir heute "gebiete," daß du den "HERRN," deinen "Gott," liebst und in seinen Wegen wandelst dein Leben "lang)," so sollst du noch drei Städte tun zu diesen "dreien,"
   
10. auf daß nicht unschuldig Blut in deinem Land vergossen "werde," das dir der "HERR," dein "Gott," zum Erbe "gibt," und Blutschulden auf dich kommen.
    

6. Otherwise, the avenger of blood might pursue him in a rage, overtake him if the distance is too great, and kill him even though he is not deserving of death, since he did it to his neighbor without malice aforethought.
   
7. This is why I command you to set aside for yourselves three cities.
   
8. If the LORD your God enlarges your territory, as he promised on oath to your forefathers, and gives you the whole land he promised them,
   
9. because you carefully follow all these laws I command you today--to love the LORD your God and to walk always in his ways--then you are to set aside three more cities.
   
10. Do this so that innocent blood will not be shed in your land, which the LORD your God is giving you as your inheritance, and so that you will not be guilty of bloodshed.
    

11. 그러나 ^ㅐ萬一(만일) 사람이 그 이웃을 미워하여 엎드려 그를 기다리다가 일어나 쳐서 그 生命(생명)을 傷(상)하여 죽게 하고 이 한 城邑(성읍)으로 逃避(도피)하거든
    
12. 그 本(본) 城邑(성읍) 長老(장로)들이 사람을 보내어 그를 거기서 잡아다가 報酬者(보수자)의 손에 넘겨 죽이게 할 것이라
    
13. ^ㄱ네 눈이 그를 矜恤(긍휼)히 보지 말고 ^ㄴ無罪(무죄)한 피 흘린 罪(죄)를 이스라엘에서 除(제)하라 그리하면 네게 福(복)이 있으리라
    
14. 네 하나님 여호와께서 네게 주어 얻게 하시는 땅 곧 네 基業(기업)된 所有(소유)의 땅에서 先人(선인)의 定(정)한 ^ㄷ네 이웃의 境界標(경계표)를 移動(이동)하지 말지니라
    
15. 사람이 아무 惡(악)이든지 무릇 犯(범)한 罪(죄)는 한 證人(증인)으로만 定(정)할 것이 아니요 ^ㄹ두 證人(증인)의 입으로나 세 證人(증인)의 입으로 그 事件(사건)을 確定(확정)할 것이며
    

11. Wenn aber jemand Haß trägt wider seinen Nächsten und lauert auf ihn und macht sich über ihn und schlägt ihn tot und flieht in dieser Städte "eine,"
    
12. so sollen die Ältesten in seiner Stadt hinschicken und ihn von da holen lassen und ihn in die Hände des Bluträchers "geben," daß er sterbe.
    
13. Deine Augen sollen ihn nicht "verschonen," und du sollst das unschuldige Blut aus Israel "tun," daß dir's wohl gehe.
    
14. Du sollst deines Nächsten Grenze nicht "zurücktreiben," die die Vorfahren gesetzt haben in deinem "Erbteil," das du erbest in dem "Lande," das dir der "HERR," dein "Gott," gegeben hat einzunehmen.
    
15. Es soll kein einzelner Zeuge wider jemand auftreten über irgend eine Missetat oder "Sünde," es sei welcherlei Sünde es "sei," die man tun "kann," sondern in dem Mund zweier oder dreier Zeugen soll die Sache bestehen.
    

11. But if a man hates his neighbor and lies in wait for him, assaults and kills him, and then flees to one of these cities,
    
12. the elders of his town shall send for him, bring him back from the city, and hand him over to the avenger of blood to die.
    
13. Show him no pity. You must purge from Israel the guilt of shedding innocent blood, so that it may go well with you.
    
14. Do not move your neighbor's boundary stone set up by your predecessors in the inheritance you receive in the land the LORD your God is giving you to possess.
    
15. One witness is not enough to convict a man accused of any crime or offense he may have committed. A matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.
    

16. 萬一(만일) ^ㅁ僞證(위증)하는 者(자)가 있어 아무 사람이 惡(악)을 行(행)하였다 말함이 있으면
    
17. 그 論爭(론쟁)하는 兩方(양방)이 같이 하나님 앞에 나아가 當時(당시) ^ㅂ祭司長(제사장)과 裁判長(재판장) 앞에 설 것이요
    
18. 裁判長(재판장)은 ^ㅅ仔細(자세)히 事實(사실)하여 그 證人(증인)이 僞證人(위증인)이라 그 兄弟(형제)를 거짓으로 誣陷(무함)한 것이 判明(판명)되거든
    
19. ^ㅇ그가 그 兄弟(형제)에게 行(행)하려고 꾀한 대로 그에게 行(행)하여 너희 中(중)에서 惡(악)을 除(제)하라
    
20. 그리하면 그 남은 者(자)들이 ^ㅈ듣고 두려워하여 이 後(후)부터는 이런 惡(악)을 너희 中(중)에서 다시 行(행)하지 아니하리라
    

16. Wenn ein frevler Zeuge wider jemand "auftritt," über ihn zu bezeugen eine "Übertretung,"
    
17. so sollen die beiden "Männer," die eine Sache miteinander "haben," vor dem "HERRN," vor den Priestern und Richtern "stehen," die zur selben Zeit sein werden;
    
18. und die Richter sollen wohl forschen. Und wenn der falsche Zeuge hat ein falsches Zeugnis wider seinen Bruder "gegeben,"
    
19. so sollt ihr ihm "tun," wie er gedachte seinem Bruder zu "tun," daß du das Böse von dir "wegtust,"
    
20. auf daß es die andern "hören," sich fürchten und nicht mehr solche böse Stücke vornehmen zu tun unter dir.
    

16. If a malicious witness takes the stand to accuse a man of a crime,
    
17. the two men involved in the dispute must stand in the presence of the LORD before the priests and the judges who are in office at the time.
    
18. The judges must make a thorough investigation, and if the witness proves to be a liar, giving false testimony against his brother,
    
19. then do to him as he intended to do to his brother. You must purge the evil from among you.
    
20. The rest of the people will hear of this and be afraid, and never again will such an evil thing be done among you.
    

21. 네 눈이 矜恤(긍휼)히 보지 말라 ^ㅊ生命(생명)은 生命(생명)으로, 눈은 눈으로, 이는 이로, 손은 손으로, 발은 발로니라
    

21. Dein Auge soll sie nicht schonen; Seele um "Seele," Auge um "Auge," Zahn um "Zahn," Hand um "Hand," Fuß um Fuß.
    

21. Show no pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
