1. 사울이 王(왕)이 될 때에 四十歲(사십세)라 그가 이스라엘을 다스린지 二年(이년)에
   
2. 이스라엘 사람 三千(삼천)을 擇(택)하여 그 中(중)에서 二千(이천)은 自己(자기)와 함께 ^ㅠ믹마스와 벧엘山(산)에 있게 하고 一千(일천)은 요나단과 함께 ^으베냐민 기브아에 있게 하고 남은 百姓(백성)은 各其(각기) 帳幕(장막)으로 보내니라
   
3. 요나단이 ^이게바에 있는 ^ㅐ블레셋 사람의 守備隊(수비대)를 치매 블레셋 사람이 이를 들은지라 사울이 온 땅에 ^ㄱ나팔을 불어 이르되 히브리 사람들은 들으라 하니
   
4. 온 이스라엘이 사울의 블레셋 사람의 守備隊(수비대)를 친 것과 이스라엘이 블레셋 사람의 可憎(가증)히 여김이 되었다 함을 듣고 길갈로 모여 사울을 좇으니라
   
5. 블레셋 사람이 이스라엘과 싸우려 하여 모였는데 兵車(병거)가 三萬(삼만)이요 馬兵(마병)이 六千(육천)이요 百姓(백성)은 ^ㄴ海邊(해변)의 모래 같이 많더라 그들이 올라와서 ^ㄷ벧아웬 東便(동편) 믹마스에 陣(진) 치매
   

1. Saul war ein Jahr König gewesen; und da er zwei Jahre über Israel regiert "hatte,"
   
2. erwählte er sich dreitausend Mann aus Israel. Zweitausend waren mit Saul zu Michmas und auf dem Gebirge zu Beth-El und eintausend mit Jonathan zu Gibea-Benjamin; das andere Volk aber ließ er "gehen," einen jeglichen in seine Hütte. {~}
   
3. Jonathan aber schlug die Schildwacht der "Philister," die zu Gibea war. Das kam vor die Philister. Und Saul ließ die Posaune blasen im ganzen Land und sagen: Das laßt die Hebräer hören!
   
4. Und ganz Israel hörte sagen: Saul hat der Philister Schildwacht "geschlagen," und Israel ist stinkend geworden vor den Philistern. Und alles Volk wurde zuhauf gerufen Saul nach gen Gilgal.
   
5. Da versammelten sich die "Philister," zu streiten mit "Israel," dreißigtausend "Wagen," sechstausend Reiter und sonst "Volk," so viel wie Sand am Rand des "Meers," und zogen herauf und lagerten sich zu "Michmas," gegen Morgen vor Beth-Aven. {~}
   

1. Saul was thirty years old when he became king, and he reigned over Israel forty- two years.
   
2. Saul chose three thousand men from Israel; two thousand were with him at Micmash and in the hill country of Bethel, and a thousand were with Jonathan at Gibeah in Benjamin. The rest of the men he sent back to their homes.
   
3. Jonathan attacked the Philistine outpost at Geba, and the Philistines heard about it. Then Saul had the trumpet blown throughout the land and said, "Let the Hebrews hear!"
   
4. So all Israel heard the news: "Saul has attacked the Philistine outpost, and now Israel has become a stench to the Philistines." And the people were summoned to join Saul at Gilgal.
   
5. The Philistines assembled to fight Israel, with three thousand chariots, six thousand charioteers, and soldiers as numerous as the sand on the seashore. They went up and camped at Micmash, east of Beth Aven.
   

6. 이스라엘 사람들이 危急(위급)함을 보고 切迫(절박)하여 ^ㄹ窟(굴)과 수풀과 바위틈과 隱密(은밀)한 곳과 웅덩이에 숨으며
   
7. 어떤 히브리 사람들은 요단을 건너 갓과 길르앗 땅으로 가되 사울은 아직 길갈에 있고 그를 좇은 모든 百姓(백성)은 떨더라
   
8. ^ㅁ사울이 사무엘의 定(정)한 期限(기한)대로 이레를 기다리되 사무엘이 길갈로 오지 아니하매 百姓(백성)이 사울에게서 흩어지는지라
   
9. 사울이 가로되 燔祭(번제)와 和睦(화목) 祭物(제물)을 이리로 가져오라 하여 燔祭(번제)를 드렸더니
   
10. 燔祭(번제) 드리기를 畢(필)하자 사무엘이 온지라 사울이 나가 맞으며 問安(문안)하매
    

6. Da das sahen die Männer "Israels," daß sie in Nöten waren (denn dem Volk war "bange)," verkrochen sie sich in die Höhlen und Klüfte und Felsen und Löcher und Gruben.
   
7. Es gingen aber auch Hebräer über den Jordan ins Land Gad und Gilead. Saul aber war noch zu "Gilgal," und alles Volk ward hinter ihm verzagt.
   
8. Da harrte er sieben Tage auf die "Zeit," von Samuel bestimmt. Und da Samuel nicht kam gen "Gilgal," zerstreute sich das Volk von ihm.
   
9. Da sprach Saul: Bringt mir her Brandopfer und Dankopfer. Und er opferte Brandopfer. {~}
   
10. Als aber das Brandopfer vollendet "war," "siehe," da kam Samuel. Da ging Saul hinaus ihm "entgegen," ihn zu grüßen. {~}
    

6. When the men of Israel saw that their situation was critical and that their army was hard pressed, they hid in caves and thickets, among the rocks, and in pits and cisterns.
   
7. Some Hebrews even crossed the Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead. Saul remained at Gilgal, and all the troops with him were quaking with fear.
   
8. He waited seven days, the time set by Samuel; but Samuel did not come to Gilgal, and Saul's men began to scatter.
   
9. So he said, "Bring me the burnt offering and the fellowship offerings." And Saul offered up the burnt offering.
   
10. Just as he finished making the offering, Samuel arrived, and Saul went out to greet him.
    

11. 사무엘이 가로되 王(왕)의 行(행)한 것이 무엇이뇨 사울이 가로되 百姓(백성)은 나에게서 흩어지고 當身(당신)은 定(정)한 날 안에 오지 아니하고 블레셋 사람은 믹마스에 모였음을 내가 보았으므로
    
12. 이에 내가 이르기를 블레셋 사람은 나를 치러 길갈로 내려오겠거늘 내가 여호와께 恩惠(은혜)를 懇求(간구)치 못하였다 하고 不得已(부득이)하여 燔祭(번제)를 드렸나이다
    
13. 사무엘이 사울에게 이르되 ^ㅂ王(왕)이 妄靈(망령)되이 行(행)하였도다 王(왕)이 ^ㅅ王(왕)의 하나님 여호와께서 王(왕)에게 命(명)하신 命令(명령)을 지키지 아니하였도다 그리하였더면 여호와께서 이스라엘 위에 王(왕)의 나라를 永永(영영)히 세우셨을 것이어늘
    
14. 只今(지금)은 ^ㅇ王(왕)의 나라가 길지 못할 것이라 여호와께서 王(왕)에게 命(명)하신 바를 王(왕)이 지키지 아니하였으므로 여호와께서 ^ㅈ그 마음에 맞는 사람을 求(구)하여 그 百姓(백성)의 指導者(지도자)를 삼으셨느니라 하고
    
15. 사무엘이 일어나 길갈에서 떠나 ^ㅊ베냐민 기브아로 올라가니라 사울이 自己(자기)와 함께 한 百姓(백성)을 計數(계수)하니 ^ㅋ六百名(육백명) 假量(가량)이라
    

11. Samuel aber sprach: Was hast du getan? Saul antwortete: Ich "sah," daß das Volk sich von mir "zerstreute," und du kamst nicht zu bestimmter "Zeit," und die Philister waren versammelt zu Michmas. {~} {~}
    
12. Da sprach ich: Nun werden die Philister zu mir herabkommen gen "Gilgal," und ich habe das Angesicht des HERRN nicht erbeten; da wagte ich's und opferte Brandopfer.
    
13. Samuel aber sprach zu Saul: Du hast töricht getan und nicht gehalten des "HERRN," deines "Gottes," "Gebot," das er dir geboten hat; denn er hätte dein Reich bestätigt über Israel für und für.
    
14. Aber nun wird dein Reich nicht bestehen. Der HERR hat sich einen Mann ersucht nach seinem Herzen; dem hat der HERR "geboten," Fürst zu sein über sein Volk; denn du hast des HERRN Gebot nicht gehalten.
    
15. Und Samuel machte sich auf und ging von Gilgal gen Gibea-Benjamin. Aber Saul zählte das "Volk," das bei ihm "war," bei sechshundert Mann.
    

11. "What have you done?" asked Samuel. Saul replied, "When I saw that the men were scattering, and that you did not come at the set time, and that the Philistines were assembling at Micmash,
    
12. I thought, 'Now the Philistines will come down against me at Gilgal, and I have not sought the LORD'S favor.' So I felt compelled to offer the burnt offering."
    
13. "You acted foolishly," Samuel said. "You have not kept the command the LORD your God gave you; if you had, he would have established your kingdom over Israel for all time.
    
14. But now your kingdom will not endure; the LORD has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him leader of his people, because you have not kept the LORD'S command."
    
15. Then Samuel left Gilgal and went up to Gibeah in Benjamin, and Saul counted the men who were with him. They numbered about six hundred.
    

16. 사울과 그 아들 요나단과 그들과 함께한 百姓(백성)은 ^ㅌ베냐민 게바에 있고 블레셋 사람은 믹마스에 陣(진)쳤더니
    
17. ^ㅍ擄略軍(노략군)들이 三隊(삼대)로 블레셋 사람의 陣(진)에서 나와서 한 隊(대)는 오브라 길로 말미암아 수알 땅에 이르렀고
    
18. 한 隊(대)는 ^ㅎ벧호론 길로 向(향)하였고 한 隊(대)는 曠野(광야)를 向(향)한 ^ㅏ스보임 골짜기가 내려다 보이는 地境(지경) 길로 向(향)하였더라
    
19. ^ㅑ때에 이스라엘 온 땅에 鐵工(철공)이 없어졌으니 이는 블레셋 사람이 말하기를 히브리 사람이 칼이나 槍(창)을 만들까 두렵다 하였음이라
    
20. 온 이스라엘 사람이 各其(각기) 보습이나 삽이나 도끼나 괭이를 벼리려면 블레셋 사람에게로 내려갔었는데
    

16. Saul aber und sein Sohn Jonathan und das "Volk," das bei ihm "war," blieben zu Gibea-Benjamin. Die Philister aber hatten sich gelagert zu Michmas.
    
17. Und aus dem Lager der Philister zogen drei "Haufen," das Land zu verheeren. Einer wandte sich auf die Straße gen Ophra ins Land Sual; {~}
    
18. der andere wandte sich auf die Straße Beth-Horons; der dritte wandte sich auf die "Straße," die da reicht bis an das Tal Zeboim an der Wüste.
    
19. Es ward aber kein Schmied im ganzen Lande Israel "gefunden," denn die Philister "gedachten," die Hebräer möchten sich Schwert und Spieß machen; {~}
    
20. und ganz Israel mußte hinabziehen zu den "Philistern," wenn jemand hatte eine "Pflugschar," "Haue," Beil oder Sense zu schärfen.
    

16. Saul and his son Jonathan and the men with them were staying in Gibeah in Benjamin, while the Philistines camped at Micmash.
    
17. Raiding parties went out from the Philistine camp in three detachments. One turned toward Ophrah in the vicinity of Shual,
    
18. another toward Beth Horon, and the third toward the borderland overlooking the Valley of Zeboim facing the desert.
    
19. Not a blacksmith could be found in the whole land of Israel, because the Philistines had said, "Otherwise the Hebrews will make swords or spears!"
    
20. So all Israel went down to the Philistines to have their plowshares, mattocks, axes and sickles sharpened.
    

21. 곧 그들이 괭이나 삽이나 쇠스랑이나 도끼나 쇠채찍이 무딜 때에 그리하였으므로
    
22. 싸우는 날에 사울과 요나단과 함께한 百姓(백성)의 손에는 ^ㅓ칼이나 槍(창)이 없고 오직 사울과 그 아들 요나단에게만 있으니라
    
23. ^ㅕ블레셋 사람의 部隊(부대)가 나와서 ^ㅗ믹마스 어귀에 이르렀더라
    

21. Und die Schneiden an den Sensen und Hauen und Gabeln und Beilen waren abgearbeitet und die Stachel stumpf geworden. {~}
    
22. Da nun der Streittag "kam," ward kein Schwert noch Spieß gefunden in des ganzen Volkes "Hand," das mit Saul und Jonathan war; nur Saul und sein Sohn Jonathan hatten Waffen.
    
23. Und eine Wache der Philister zog heraus an den engen Weg von Michmas.
    

21. The price was two thirds of a shekel for sharpening plowshares and mattocks, and a third of a shekel for sharpening forks and axes and for repointing goads.
    
22. So on the day of the battle not a soldier with Saul and Jonathan had a sword or spear in his hand; only Saul and his son Jonathan had them.
    
23. Now a detachment of Philistines had gone out to the pass at Micmash.
